Why me

I left school at sixteen and went into an apprenticeship, with no family money and no head start. I studied at night and on my days off while working full time, and kept at it until I had a degree. Thirty years later the career spans more than $500m of development across residential, commercial, retail and industrial schemes, including a $250m transatlantic US/UK joint venture, US investment into a London high-rise scheme, taken from first negotiation through planning and funding to financial close under my management, and now on site.

The number that matters most to you is smaller. I have run my own companies for twenty years, several of them, one after another: winning the work, writing the proposals, sending the invoices, chasing the ones that went quiet. The first LaunchKit template exists because I could not afford a solicitor, so I wrote my own contract and improved it every time a job taught me something. That is the same job you are doing.

It has not all worked, and I will not pretend it has. I have backed the wrong idea, hired too fast, priced a job so keenly it made no money, and stayed with something long after I should have walked away.
